I'm Craig Balding. I've spent 30+ years in tech — 20 years evaluating banking systems at GE Capital, then Global Head of Cyber Risk and Group Security CTO at Barclays, and independent consulting since 2017. I'm based in Budapest. Work took me there, a woman kept me there.
For a long time I had ideas but no appetite for the old grind of building them. When you're time-poor, you have limited patience for debugging loops and slow progress.
Coding agents changed that. Not one big moment — more like suddenly being able to try lots of ideas quickly, throw out the crap ones, and keep the good. I went from shell scripts to Aider to building real things again. One of those is SafeYolo — because I wanted the momentum agents give you, but with control over what they can access.
I started ShippingAgain because I suspect there are plenty of others like me — former devs, sysadmins, security people, technical leaders — who've had that same moment and want somewhere to talk about it.
This isn't an AI hype forum. It's for people who already know how to build things, learning from each other, sharing wins, workarounds, and tactics, and generally revelling in the leverage we've gained.
The goal isn't scale. A few hundred people who actually post would be perfect.
ShippingAgain is an independent project by Threatspotting, my cybersecurity consultancy.
